Here’s an interview with two of the most noticable drivers of the Spring 2009 season of the BnJ Revival, the American Kevin Myers from RSR, and the Frenchman Lims Chebbi from Tiger Express. If the former is probably one of the most experienced Bump and Jump racer ever, with a 3rd place in the CTRA Bump and Jump rankings, the latter had his first ever experience with this very special style of racing in the Revival Cup. He finished 9th of the championship and won the Rookie Cup.

Interview with Kevin Myers:
Question: So Kevin, after almost 6 months of waiting, the BnJ Revival Cup is back for the second season of its history. I guess it makes you excited right?
Kevin Myers: Um, HELL YEAH!
Q: As you’re probably one of the most experienced Bump and Jump driver of the discipline history, could you tell us what make this style of racing so thrilling?
KM: Well for me, I’ve always enjoyed small tight twisty tracks. Most of these layouts are very technical, and precision is a high priority, especially with the collision bug
Q: We’ve seen you struggling a bit last season: although you showed a lot of consistancy, you lacked of speed to rivalise with the top drivers. Was it because you lost some of your skills after you lost of track time due to CTRA’s collapse, or was it because the standards are higher in the BnJ Revival?
KM: I’m old. LOL seriously tho, I try to make a race out of it. And TBH there was some very aggressive racing going on last year. There is a fine line between racing in BnJ and getting to the front at all costs, which some people do. Just the nature of it i guess. All depends on what type of racer you are.
Q: As you know, the BnJ Revival Cup will introduce a 2 divisions system this year. What do you think about it?
KM: I think it’s great. It should afford the experienced guys some challenges and offer more competitors a chance to race, given the limitations on grid sizes. With the current state of LFS, giving everyone willing to race in a league the chance to, instead of saying they’re too slow or whatever is a top priority.
Q: Last question: what are your aims for this season?
KM: I wanna do what everyone wants to do: beat Kenneth. HA! No really, points don’t mean much to me. Never really have. I’m in it for the close racing, and the fun that it is and always has been. There’s tons of great memories racing in BnJ, I’ve met alot of awesome people there. Hell that’s how I got met the guys in RSR. Guess they wanted to lower the grading curve
And thanks to Yann and Thomas Madl from iCON for putting this together, and to TEM for keeping it alive.
Interview with Lims Chebbi:
Question: Lims, you impressed us a lot during the previous season. Despite you had absolutely no experience with Bump n’ Jump before the 1st round, you showed an awersome consistance and magnificent skills to avoid crashes, which gave you the record of finished races in the season(11 out of 15). What are your secrets?
LC: 1) Awareness 2) reactions 3) Not been afraid of lifting off the trottle or slowing down if needed 4) Good spirit 5)Keeping it cool and calm, even in very tough and difficulte situations 6) Big dertermination.
Q: Did this season help you to improve your skills in the other “classic” styles of racing?
LC: In a way yes, it made me understand how to race very close to the other cars and barriers, this is how I got better on SO tracks and managed crash less.
Q: As you know, the BnJ Revival Cup will introduce a 2 divisions system this year. What do you think about this system?
LC: Brilliant, more races, differente combines, differente classes for slower and faster racers, so i think this is an idiea who will attrack many races and fullup both grids, caus of the diversity of the combos, the fun, and the good reputation that league has already, that is why i wanted to thanks Yann , the founder and organiser of this league who is also good friend of mine
Q: What are your aims for this season?
LC: Well do better than last year, and compite for the top 5 or win the cup, but as my experience tells me, anything could happen, anyone could win, and there will be certainely at least 8 differents race winner throughout the season or even more.
Q: The new points system will reward the consistancy much more than the speed this season. Do you think it will increase your chances?
LC: Yes it will increase my chances, because I am a very consistant racer, but as i said, anything could happen at any time any place and anyone got to get ready for anything, accept it, deal with it and do the best he could do for the win.
