IGTC 2011: Mid-Season Review

Posted on 10th August, 2011 at 5:46 PM by Yann Laprevotte

Tiger Express is involved in this Summer’s main LFS endurance league, the International GT Championship. For its fifth season, the league managed to attract a very appealing field, with former champions CoRe Racing, spdo Racing and Conquest Racing coming back, and defending against some of simracing’s finest teams(such as My3id Gaming, ineX Racing, Sonicrealms Racing or RaceStar ConverTTable), trying to gain their first crown. This season will be the shortest of the IGTC history, with 4 races of 4 hour each, all on open configuration tracks.

Latvia’s Andris Pavars joins team

Posted on 6th August, 2011 at 9:12 AM by Yann Laprevotte

An eleventh member has joined TEM’s rank recently, in the person of Andris “andro.” Pavars, from Latvia.

Andris, 18, has been around for quite a while in the LFS community. He is the former founder and manager of international Latvia-based 4 Stroke Racing, which collapsed in early 2010. He has a rather big experience in league racing, including races in top-level competitions such as LFS Pro Series, GT Series, Apex Cup, iTCC, or IGTC. He is also the manager of the Baltic Cup, and the LFS Photomode Competition, in which he is also showing his pic editing skills – which you can have a small overview with this article’s picture. Also, for the record, Andris is one of the very few(and perhaps the only one at this moment) keyboard racers holding an LFS World Record.

This new recruit makes two Baltic racers in TEM’s roster, after long time Estonian member Karl “TypeRacing” Raudsepp.

GTAL, MoE, LFSES 2010-11: TEM’s Latest Endurance Ventures

Posted on 17th June, 2011 at 4:49 PM by Yann Laprevotte

The annual 2010-11 seasons of Grand Touring Amateur League(GTAL), Masters of Endurance(MoE) and LFS Endurance Series(LFSES) came to an end recently.

TEM got 8th in 2011 GTAL, after going not so far from the title in a mega close season. 7th in class in the prestigious Masters of Endurance, with a maiden podium as a bonus. A double crown(drivers champ’ and GT500 teams’ championship) in LFSES, a league that unfortunately suffered massively from interrest drops.

Round 5: Z30 Festival Round 5: Van Buren and Cattell dominate season finale, Holmes grabs championship

Posted on 16th June, 2011 at 4:00 AM by Yann Laprevotte

The last round of the Tiger Express Z30 Festival took place on the longest layout of PMD’s open configurations pack, Kyoto International GT Long(KY33). Even with LFS’ second fastest ever car – the FO8 – no one could lap this layout in less than 3 minutes and 12 seconds.

Z30 Festival Round 4: Pikkarainen wins, ineX are champions, Holmes gets closer to drivers’ title

Posted on 7th June, 2011 at 10:54 PM by Yann Laprevotte

The fourth and penultimate round of the Tiger Express Z30 Festival took place on the low-downforce Aston Central Reversed(AS11R) configuration, with GTRs. A simple but challenging track, requiring a good compormise between handling and speed. A nice field of 25 cars was present this time, sign of an healthy and steady turn-up rate.

2011 Ligue FR – GTR Part: TEM 1-2-3

Posted on 6th June, 2011 at 2:07 AM by Yann Laprevotte

The GTR championship of the 2011 Ligue FRLFS France’s official championship – has taken place recently. It saw a massive domination from Tiger Express, taking 11 wins and 22 podiums in 12 races. The team managed to get a full podium sweep at the drivers’ championship, with Yann Laprevotte taking the title, in front of Karl Raudsepp and Liane Solfrank. The trio beat known figures of the French speaking community such as spdo Racing’s Morgan Trollé, Team ViresPierre Peron, Crazy DriversPantera or 2F2F’s Oliv.

Z30 Festival Round 3: ineX dominates, Holmes keeps championship lead, Lind fights back

Posted on 1st June, 2011 at 4:30 PM by Yann Laprevotte

Round 3 was held on the Kyoto National infield-only configuration(KY21), with TBOs.  For the only time of the season, this round had a two heats system, which provided more door to door action than usual.

Rudy van Buren came back stronger after a difficult round 2, and set pole, leading an ineX Racing 1-2-3: championship leader Joe Holmes was alongside him in front row, in front of series newcomer Philip Ellis. “Best of the rest” was reigning Formula Ford World Champion Dennis Lind(Dennis .Inc) in 4th.

Z30 Festival: ineX Racing’s Joe Holmes leads after 2 rounds

Posted on 27th May, 2011 at 1:21 PM by Yann Laprevotte

The Tiger Express Z30 Festival already looks to be a success, after only 2 rounds completed out of 5. An average of 30.5 cars took the start in the two first races of the season. Furthermore, standards have been extremely high at the top of the field. Every single driver and team nominated in the 2010 LFS driver and LFS team of the year award have taken in at least one race so far, except Marius Golombeck. However, most of the race and qualifying sessions have been dominated by ineX Racing and spdo Racing so far, with ineX’s Joe Holmes and Phil Diaz sandwiching spdo’s Egon Liibeon at the top of the drivers’ championship sheet.
